Slowing down together

No two therapies look the same because no two people are the same. You are coming in with a unique set of life experiences. I work to understand you as fully as I possibly can- this includes the parts of you that are familiar with as well as parts that have been denied, dismissed, or forgotten. Together, in curious collaboration, I hope to uncover the roots of your suffering and address what you may be needing, wanting or desiring to grow.

You may have been sitting with symptoms for a long time- trying to mask or minimize them- with little relief.

Working with another person is where healing can begin.

What is therapy?

Therapy is a space that is completely for you. It offers a special kind of relationship - one that exists solely to facilitate your growth and awareness. Therapy will look different for different people, depending on what your specific needs are, but in general, we will follow the emotional thread of your experience and think about it together.

How can you help?

I know that we need the witness of another to heal. Many of us go through the world knowing that they need more support. Or a different kind of support than they are used to. Therapy offers a place to be deeply reflective about your unique experience and address the ways in which you may be struggling.

How do you work?

My approach is warm and collaborative. Creating a trusting relationship is of primary importance, and it is the biggest factor in determining outcome. My training is in contemporary, relational psychotherapy, where I have interest in how your past experiences inform your present. I work with you holistically, blending somatic and meditative practices, as well as learnings from CBT and DBT therapies.

What can I expect in therapy?

Before we meet, we will spend some time on the phone to see if it feels like a good fit. If so, we will schedule a first session together. To start, I will be getting to know you more, what brings you into therapy, and perhaps what you hope to gain from therapy. You do not need to bring anything to session, except for a willingness to share your experience.

FAQ’s

Therapy is a weekly, 50 minute commitment. We will find a day and time for us to meet, and I hold that time specifically for you. I do ask for a weekly commitment, as I find it to be the most effective way to work.

I do not take insurance, which means that I am an out-of-network provider. I will gladly provide you a superbill that you can submit to your insurance for reimbursement.

Please inquire about my current fee. Sliding scale is available for those in financial need, and I encourage you to reach out if you need a lower fee. If I cannot accommodate you, I would be glad to offer you a referral. Note the list of sliding scale options at the bottom of this page, if they are of interest to you.
